Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is praising Fox News' coverage of its war on Ukraine, hailing it as ''trying to represent some alternative points of view'' and denouncing ''information terrorism.''

''We understood long ago that there is no such thing as an independent Western media,'' Lavrov told RT.com, which is Russian state media television Russia Today, in an in-studio interview Friday, citing U.S. media ''censorship'' and the blocking of former President Donald Trump on social media.

Since the onset of the war, Fox’s Tucker Carlson has become a media star in Russia, as the Kremlin has urged state-owned media outlets to replay clips from his top-rated cable show.

Carlson has long been a critic of supporters of Ukraine and Biden’s support of the Zelenskyy government.

U.S. media across the political spectrum has criticized Carlson for suggesting the Biden administration is permitting a war between Russia and Ukraine in an effort to ''grab more power,'' Yahoo News reported.

Carlson has repeatedly claimed that Ukraine is not a democracy, and has blamed NATO for the war by expanding near Russia’s border.

"They wanted a war and now they have one," Carlson told his audience last week, referring to the “permanent” government he said runs Washington, D.C.

“At exactly the moment when the emergency powers they awarded to themselves to fight COVID started to wane, our leaders began pushing for conflict with Russia,'' Carlson said on his program last Friday.

Dick Morris said Fox’s Carlson coverage of the war has been “an outrage against all that America stands.”

The Newsmax commentator and former Fox News contributor said, “Roger Ailes, the founding chairman of the network, must be rolling over in his grave. Ailes was above all else a patriot.”

Yahoo noted that one of Carlson’s regular guests, retired Army Col. Douglas Macgregor, shared a seldom-reported view that Ukraine had been ''grounded to bits'' by Russia's invading forces.

''There's no question about that, despite what we report on our mainstream media,'' Macgregor told Carlson.
