Berlin's Jewish Museum Closed after WWII-era Bomb Found

Friday, 30 October 2015 09:13 AM EDT

BERLIN (AP) — Berlin's Jewish Museum is closed again after another unexploded World War II bomb was uncovered at a nearby construction site.

Police said Friday that in addition to the museum, the entire area around the downtown construction site in the German capital was being evacuated as experts work to defuse and remove the 250 kilogram (550 pound) bomb dropped by the Allies during the war.

Even 70 years after the end of the conflict, unexploded bombs regularly turn up during construction work in Berlin and other major German cities.
