LIGNET: New Chinese Leaders Set to Challenge the West

Outgoing Chinese President Hu Jintao doubled down on defending the Communist Party at the just-concluded Chinese Communist Party Congress, indicating that the new Chinese president, Xi Jinping, will continue the policies of the current regime. This does not bode well for Asia or for the United States, says LIGNET Deputy Editor Mark Groombridge in a new interview. Both, he says, can expect serious security and economic challenges from China over the coming decade.
