Chavez Pulls Back on Electricity Rationing

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is ordering authorities to ease power rationing measures that have darkened homes and businesses for months.

Chavez says the electrical grid is no longer in danger of collapsing, and weekend, holiday and peak-usage rationing will come to an end.

He said Friday night in a televised speech that authorities eventually expect to lift the state of emergency he declared in February.
