ANALYSIS — Twelve years after it lost its hold on power in Mexico, the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) is on the verge of winning Sunday’s presidential election with its young, telegenic candidate, Enrique Peña Nieto. Given the PRI’s long history of authoritarian rule, corruption and collusion with drug cartels, some are concerned that Mexico is about to take a big step backward.
