LIGNET: Undoing The Damage from the Chen Affair

As China looks to recover from the debacle of blind dissident Chen Guangcheng, who spent the last week in the American embassy in Beijing, the U.S. State Department is scrambling to make up for its diplomatic bungling of the situation. The administration needs to move quickly to allow the relationship between China and the United States to recover, while guaranteeing the safety of Chen and his family, at least for the next few years.
