Former Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., should run for office again, according to former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who admits it is unlikely.

"I wish he would," Reid told the Daily Beast.. "But I don't think he will. He just feels hurt. And he was a good senator."

Franken was forced out of office amid allegations of sexual misconduct with multiple women.

"He got a bad deal," Reid told the Post.

Without due process against the allegations, Franken, 68, resigned amid pressure from fellow Democrats to do so at the peak of the #MeToo Movement.

One of those, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., a Democratic presidential primary candidate, who is an avowed "lifelong fighter for women," has said she now regrets being the first senator to call for Franken's resignation.

Franken has not ruled out another run for office, but sources close to him doubt he will, according to the report.
