Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo says she plans to sue Fox News over the channel's coverage of supposed "no go" zones for non-Muslims.

In an interview scheduled to air in full on Tuesday afternoon, Hidalgo told CNN's Christiane Amanpour that false claims about the zones have "prejudiced" her city's honor.

Hidalgo's remarks came after a series of statements made on Fox that portrayed Muslims in a negative light and were widely challenged. Fox News anchors later issued several apologies for the statements.
Fox representatives did not immediately respond to CNN's request for comment.

The New York Daily News reported that on Saturday, Fox News ran a correction about comments made by Steven Emerson of the Investigative Project on Terrorism. During a Jan. 10 appearance on Fox, he declared that "there are actual cities like Birmingham that are totally Muslim."
