French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said Monday there was a "strong possibility" one of the Islamic State jihadists seen unmasked in a video purporting to show the execution of a US aid worker and Syrian soldiers was a French citizen.

"There is a strong possibility that a French citizen was directly involved" in the beheading of at least 18 Syrian men, shown in the gruesome video on Sunday that also claimed the murder of American Peter Kassig, said Cazeneuve.
