Comedian George Lopez and actor Edward James Olmos made a surprise visit to see El Paso shooting victims in the hospital, the El Paso Times is reporting.
The two arrived at University Medical Center on Thursday in El Paso. A gunman left 22 people dead in a shooting spree on August 3.
The two stars also visited families of those killed in the massacre, according to the newspaper.
Olmos had tweeted out a photo showing him and Lopez with an unidentified woman, who was wounded in the shooting and still in the hospital.
He wrote: “Celebrating life with the survivors of El Paso. Find a way of helping and uniting with the families of those that lost family members and survivors and their families of Dayton and El Paso. Find ways of helping!”
UMC spokesman Ryan Mielke, welcomed the stars, and said: “It was a real emotional experience all around. They just wanted to meet patients and staff.”
Lopez wore a shirt that read: “El Paso Strong Fuerte” and Olmos had an “El Paso Strong” pin on his shirt, according to KFOX 14.
