LONDON (AP) — Northern Ireland police say a teenager and a man in his 60s have been arrested after a stolen fire engine plowed into a row of parked cars before crashing into the front yard of a house.

Police say the fire truck was stolen early Saturday from a station in Larne.

It left a trail of devastation as it drove at high speed and with lights flashing, hitting at least eight cars and a house in a residential street.

Resident Thomas Jobling said he was woken by a "horrendous bang" at about 4:30 a.m. (0430 GMT). He said "we are just wondering how in the name of goodness can something like this happen."

Police say men aged 19 and 66 are being questioned. One of them was treated for injuries.
