LONDON (AP) — British police say a wolf that had escaped from its sanctuary has been recaptured.
Thames Valley Police said Thursday the wolf was unharmed.
Police say schoolchildren who had been kept indoors while the animal was on the loose have been let out of their school.
The wolf escaped from a sanctuary near a school as gale-force winds buffeted parts of the country.
Witnesses said Thursday the wolf got free after strong winds knocked down a fence at the UK Wolf Conservation Trust near Reading, 45 miles (73 kilometers) west of London.
There are 10 wolves living at the sanctuary.
