The National WWI Museum and Memorial in Kansas City, Missouri, was the target of anti-voting graffiti on Tuesday.
Word of the graffiti came in a tweet by the museum. The words “Don’t Vote,” were written in red on the outside wall. Also seen on the wall was the phrase: “Fight for Revolution.” The museum is being used as a polling place.
Someone also drew a hammer and sickle on the outside wall.
“This morning our stonework was defaced,” the museum tweeted. “We are proud to be a polling location & condemn this attempt at voter intimidation. Our democracy is something that generations of veterans, including those in WWI, have fought to defend. We hope you’ll vote today & make your voice heard.”
The Hill noted that the building walls have been cleaned since the incident.
The museum holds a comprehensive collection of World War I objects and documents, according to Lee's Summit Tribune.
