School Apologizes for Pro-Obama Video

By    |   Monday, 30 September 2013 06:31 PM EDT

A Wisconsin public school had to apologize after being accused of disseminating political propaganda to its students at a school event by playing a video of Hollywood's liberal elite pledging their allegiance to President Barack Obama, infowars.com reported on Monday.

The Hudson Middle School in Hudson, was criticized for broadcasting the YouTube video from Oprah Winfrey's "I pledge" campaign in which such stars as Demi Mooore, Ashton Kutcher, Alyssa Milano, P Diddy, and Cameron Diaz promote their left leaning political views as a way to make the world a better place.

The video aired during the school's annual Peace One Day event on Sept. 25.

At one point in the video, Red Hot Chili Peppers singer Anthony Kiedis says, "I pledge to be of service to Barack Obama." He then exclaims: "Obama. Obama."

Demi Moore, standing next to Kutcher states, "I pledge to be a servant to our president," while P Diddy sports a 2008 Obama T-shirt.

Some faculty, parents, and members of the public were concerned over the political slant.
"It looks a little bit like 1940s Germany," one person told a local KSMP-TV reporter during a man-on-the-street interview.

The following day the school issued a lengthy apology.

"The Middle School and District apologize for the use of the "I Pledge" video. The reason the video was used was to show students small ways to make a difference in their communities.

Most of the video provided views with examples like: end hunger in America; volunteer more; always represent your country with pride, dignity and honesty and care for America's elderly. Unfortunately, the video also had a political bent.

"The District is non-partisan and does not endorse the political messages found in this video. This video will not be used in this District again."
