Will Ferrell was injured late Thursday after an SUV the comic was riding in flipped over, TMZ reports.
Ferrell, known for his portrayals of President George W. Bush and fictional TV newsman Ron Burgundy, was rushed with two other passengers to a local hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries and released, his spokesperson told the celebrity news site.
TMZ says the accident occurred on Interstate 5 in Orange County, California, around 11 p.m, when the chauffeur-driven SUV got side-swiped by another car. Farrell could be seen speaking on his cell phone as emergency workers placed his stretcher in an ambulance.
One witness said a woman in Ferrell's vehicle was more seriously injured, and was bleeding profusely.
Earlier, the actor had attended a "Funny or Die" event in which he appeared as Burgundy, a wacky San Diego news anchor.
