A 132-foot drone warship that can sail thousands of miles out at sea without a single crew member on board is being developed by the U.S. Navy.
The "Sea Hunter" is able to remain on the open sea for three months at a time and can track down enemy submarines with state of the art cameras and radar systems, The Daily Mail reports.
Construction of the ship is costing $20 million and it will take about $20,000 a day to run — significantly less than vessels using human crews, according to The Mail.
Experts said the vessel also could revolutionize commercial shipping in the future.
