Search for Missing in Ark. Floods Ends for Night

Friday, 11 June 2010 10:38 PM EDT

Authorities say the search for dozens of people still missing after floodwaters tore through an Arkansas campground has ended for the night.

State police spokesman Bill Sadler says rescue teams will resume the search by land and air at daylight Saturday.

At least 16 people have been confirmed dead, including a number of children.

Heavy rains dumped more than a half-foot of rain on the area in southwest Arkansas. The Little Missouri climbed 20 feet within a four-hour period overnight, trapping many campers.
