A conservative commentator's Twitter account was reinstated after he said the social media network banned him for reasons unknown to him.
Jesse Kelly's account was taken down last week, and Twitter told The Hill it was due to Kelly "violating the Twitter Rules."
Kelly said he was told the ban would be permanent, while Twitter said it was a temporary suspension.
In an interview with TheHill.TV, Kelly said he is still not sure why his account was targeted.
"I honestly have no idea," Kelly said.
"The truth is, I understand how sensitive Twitter is. I understand that they are run by leftists, and they're trying to run off people on the right, so knowing that, I'm fairly careful with it. Especially because it was a big tool I used to promote my show, to promote things that I had written. So, I wasn't trying to get kicked off, I was trying to be good, and I got kicked off anyway."
Twitter has suspended and terminated several right-leaning accounts over the last year, which has prompted conservatives to call out the company's liberal views.
Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said over the summer the company does not consider a user's political views when making decisions about suspending accounts.
