Fox News apparently has no interest in being part of former President Donald Trump's new Truth Social media platform.
After press reports noted the inclusion of Fox News as an account on the social media platform, the network pushed back hard.
On Thursday, a Fox News spokesman told Axios the network is not affiliated Trump’s platform and has “nothing to do” with the account.
The existence of the Fox News account led to excitement among investors, with the stock price jumping for the listed SPAC that is expected to merge with Trump Media, pending SEC approval.
Axios reported Truth Social is using RSS feeds to post content from major media brands on the platform.
"Great to have RSS feed for @FoxNews now LIVE here on TRUTH! This adds to @OAN and @Newsmax," Truth Social CEO Devin Nunes, a former House Republican, hailed.
The verified Fox News account did not have the usual "BOT" disclaimer on Truth Social and Fox said it did not authorize its use.
Fox News has accounts on most major social media platforms.
Newsmax has a verified account on Truth Social, as well as social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Gettr and Instagram.
“We’re proud to be part of this open social media forum President Trump has launched,” Newsmax said in a statement. “It’s going to be a powerful platform for free speech and information.”
