Donald Trump may want to consider hiring a bodyguard to protect his brass-rimmed star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The Los Angeles Times reports some tourists who come across the tribute to the Republican presidential front-runner's days as a reality show star have had explosive reactions to it.

They stamp on it, pretend to spit on it, criticize it and try to deface it. Spray-painters have gotten into the act, one drawing a swastika and another one a mute button.

In one jaw-dropping instance, the owner of a German Shepard mix named Hades watched as his pet suddenly pooped on it, according to the newspaper. The owner says it was an accident, but noted, "dogs have a personality more than people think."

The Times' Joseph Serna says the Hollywood Historic Trust, which maintains a landmark site, has issued a warning saying it's ready to prosecute offenders. But so far, as the 2016 presidential race continues to heat up, the finger wagging doesn't appear to have worked.

Trump's star, which was added in 2007, sits amid a Who's Who of more than 2500 Hollywood greats, including, Frank Sinatra, Bette Davis, Carol Burnett, Dr. Seuss, Liberace and Barbra Streisand.
