Donald Trump has found himself inadvertently promoting a new Hollywood thriller from Alfonso Cuarón, who directed the Oscar-winning sci-fi nail-biter "Gravity."

Trump's voice, taken from a rally he held last year, is heard in a trailer for "Desierto," an intense R-rated drama in which immigrants crossing from Mexico into the U.S. are pitted against a deranged border patrol worker.

The Wrap reports that Trump, the Republican presidential front-runner, "provides the soundtrack as Mexican migrants get picked off."

The film's U.S. distributor, STX Entertainment, describes the plot this way:

"What begins as a hopeful journey to seek a better life becomes a harrowing and primal fight for survival when a deranged, rifle-toting vigilante chases a group of unarmed men and women through the treacherous U.S.-Mexican border. In the harsh, unforgiving desert terrain, the odds are stacked firmly against them as they continuously discover there's nowhere to hide from the unrelenting, merciless killer."

The trailer for the movie opens with an on-screen disclaimer, stating "Speech from the Republican candidate for president of the United States Donald Trump."

It's then followed by audio from Trump's controversial remarks about illegal aliens.

"The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody else's problems.... When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best," Trump is heard saying, according to The Wrap.

"They're sending people that have lots of problems. They're bringing drugs, they're bringing crime, they're rapists, and it's gotta stop. And it's gotta stop fast."

As soon as Trump's comments end, one unfortunate border crosser is seen getting shot in the abdomen.

The film, which won an international critics award at the Toronto Film Festival, is produced by Cuarón, directed by his son Jonás Cuarón, and is scheduled for release this year.

It stars Golden Globe winner Gael García Bernal, who played Che Guevara in "The Motorcycle Diaries" and Jeffrey Dean Morgan of TV's "The Good Wife" and "The Walking Dead." The film's R-rating is due to "strong violence and language."
