An Air Force transport plane delivered the presidential helicopter, Marine One, to Palm Beach International Airport Sunday, ahead of President Donald Trump's Thanksgiving at his Mar-a-Lago estate, according to The Palm Beach Post.
The delivery of the helicopter does not mean it will be the president's mode of transportation to Mar-a-Lago. The helicopter and the president's black armored vehicle travel with him around the U.S. and overseas, the report said.
The president is set to arrive at about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday and to leave around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26. The Trump family's Thanksgiving dinner will be at Mar-a-Lago, The Post reported.
Palm Beach locals want to know how the president will travel between the airport and the estate, a trip of 2 miles. Earlier this year, Trump's motorcade created a traffic jam for hours as state, local, and federal law enforcement closed roads near the route, according to The Post.
The U.S. Marine Corps built a helipad at Mar-a-Lago to address some of the traffic and security issues, which led to criticism from neighbors about the possible noise and down-draft from large helicopters, The Post reported in February.
The Secret Service gives little prior notice to the president's travel plans, so drivers in the area wonder how to manage their travel during this week. The county's public transportation system sent out an advisory warning that substantial delays and detours were possible, The Post reported.
