Hollywood actors Tom Arnold and Dean Cain got into a heated argument over politics Tuesday, with Arnold expanding on a recent tweet that said Cain's right-leaning views make him anti-gay and a racist.

Arnold and Dean were caught backstage at "Larry King Now," a show that airs on Ora TV and Hulu, to promote their new films.

"I've always supported gay rights . . . let me finish for a second, you're giving me guilt by association," Cain, who supports President Donald Trump, told Arnold during the heated exchange.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cain was alluding to Arnold's criticism of Cain for appearing at the recent Values Voter Summit — which is hosted by the Family Research Council. Arnold compared the Christian group to "Nazis."

"They're hurting people — you know how many suicides of [expletive] gay kids?" Arnold said to Cain. ". . . They [expletive] shame them and they try to keep them out of [expletive] schools. . . . Please hear me. That's why it's so visceral. . . . I don't want those [expletive] using you."

Cain, who was right in Arnold's face, replied, "Nobody is using me. I speak my mind."

The pair shook hands and hugged after the exchange, but they resumed their argument on Twitter afterward.

Arnold tweeted: "Holy hell Superman is a full on white supremacist Trump lover. Holy hell  I almost had to knock out Superman. Good lord, has anyone seen Batman? Please tell my children about me . . ."

Cain, who played Superman on the TV show "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman," replied with this: "Tom, I was standing right in front of you, buddy. Why didn't you say that when I was looking you in the eye? Coward."

Cain's upcoming anti-abortion film is called "Gosnell: The Trial of America's Biggest Serial Killer." Arnold's new TV show on Viceland is called "The Hunt for the Trump Tapes with Tom Arnold," in which he tries to locate tapes from "The Apprentice" in which Trump is alleged to have made racist and sexist remarks. The tapes have not yet surfaced, and it is unknown if they actually exist.
