Actor Robert Pattinson has reportedly tested positive for the coronavirus, forcing production on "The Batman" to pause only days after it resumed filming in England, according to Vanity Fair.

"A member of 'The Batman' production has tested positive for COVID-19, and is isolating in accordance with established protocols. Filming is temporarily paused," Warner Bros., the production company behind the film, said in a statement Thursday.

Vanity Fair reports it "confirmed through a highly placed source" it was Pattinson, the star of the movie, who tested positive.

"The Batman" began filming earlier this year before it was forced to shutter production in March due to the coronavirus pandemic. Another major Hollywood movie filming in the U.K., Universal Pictures' "Jurassic World: Dominion," resumed production at Pinewood Studios in July, the first big-budget movie to restart filming following the coronavirus outbreak.

After "The Batman" production was put on hold, Warner Bros. delayed the movie's release until Oct. 1, 2021. The film, directed by Matt Reeves, stars Pattinson as Batman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, Andy Serkis as Alfred, and Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon.
