Texas can require voters to show a driver’s license or another ID from a short list of approved photo identification to cast a ballot for president in November, a federal appeals court ruled.
The decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals in New Orleans follows last year’s ruling by a three-judge panel that let Texas keep using the law while a trial judge worked to make it less biased against minorities.
The case is Veasey v. Abbott, 14-41127, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit (New Orleans).
