A California congressman apologized to a survivor of the Parkland, Florida, shooting massacre over the weekend after inviting him to come to his home state and smoke marijuana.
Rep. Ted Lieu, D-Calif., initially responded to a tweet posted by Kyle Kashuv by saying this:

Earlier this month, Lieu had a similar message for Fox News host Tucker Carlson regarding California's laws that make it legal to smoke marijuana:
Kashuv, 16, was on the campus of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School when a gunman walked in and killed 17 people on Valentine's Day. He has emerged as a gun rights advocate and does not think gun control is the answer to stopping gun violence.
Kashuv met with President Donald Trump during a trip to Washington, D.C., in March.
