Los Angeles police arrested a man for allegedly marking up President Donald Trump's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with swastikas, the L.A. Times reports.
Jose Ortega, 29, was booked Sunday on suspicion of felony vandalism.
Trump's star, which was placed on Hollywood Boulevard near Highland Ave. in 2007 to recognize the success of his reality show, "The Apprentice," has been targeted before, and in July was destroyed by a pickax. In October 2016, another man bashed it with a sledgehammer.
Ortega, who is being held in lieu of more than $20,000 bail, first marked the star last Thursday. He came back Sunday and drew another swastika but was followed by a witness who called cops and gave him his location.
Per entertainment website TMZ, Ortega admitted to both taggings.
The paint has been cleaned off, said Officer Drake Madison of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section.
The West Hollywood City Council in August passed a resolution in favor of removing the star, but the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce did not act on it.
