The graduating Class of 2016 leaves college with the highest amount of student loans of any class in history at an average of $35,000 per graduate, according to the Student Loan Report.

That comes out to a total of $1.2 trillion in student loan debt in the U.S., according to SLR.

The lengths some graduates would go to if they could have their student loans forgiven, according to an unscientific poll given by Student Loan Report.

If both presidential candidates stumped on student loan forgiveness, Donald Trump would edge out Hillary Clinton, with 58 percent of millennials saying they would vote for Trump, according to the survey.

Most of the other poll questions, however, were not as conventional. These are some of the zany things millennials would do to be forgiven of their college debt:
  • 27 percent would contract the Zika virus;
  • 77 percent would give up Snap Chat for life;
  • 83 percent would give up bagels for life;
  • 61 percent would give up cheese for life;
  • 8 percent would move to North Korea for the next 10 years.
Student Loan Report did cite numbers that tell a serious story of how debt affects the lives of many college graduates:
  • 43 percent of grads delay starting a family;
  • 29 percent put off marriage;
  • 75 percent put off buying a home
Student Loan Report polled 500 graduated borrowers.
