WOODLAWN, Md. — Baltimore County police say a shooting that prompted a lockdown of the Social Security Administration campus was a robbery.
County policy notified the Social Security Administration, which locked down its Woodlawn campus because the suspect has not been caught. An agency spokeswoman confirmed the campus is on lockdown.
Police say they were called at 11:43 a.m. about the shooting in the woods near Walden Circle, behind the Social Security complex.
The victim, a man, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to Sinai Hospital of Baltimore. The suspect is believed to have run away.
Social Security spokesman Kia Green said nearly 12,000 people work in the Woodlawn complex.
