Eighty-five percent of Americans say they are concerned about a second wave of the coronavirus virus, while 14% say they are not very concerned or not concerned at all, according to a new Axios-Ipsos poll.
The numbers represent an increase from the poll a week ago, which found 80% were at least somewhat concerned, compared to 17% who were not very concerned or not concerned at all.
Here are how the results of the latest poll, released Tuesday, break down:
- 85% say they are concerned with the pandemic, while 13% are not very concerned or not concerned at all.
- 84% say they are concerned about a spike in coronavirus cases as a result of the public protests, while 14% are not very concerned or not at all concerned.
- 71% are concerned about their community reopening too soon, while 27% are not very concerned or not concerned at all.
- 35% say they have a great deal or fair amount of trust in the federal government to look out for their best interests, compared to 63% who say they do not have very much trust or none at all.
- 58% say they have a great deal or fair amount of trust in their state government to look out for them. Compared to 41% who say they do not have very much trust or none at all.
The poll, conducted June 19-22, surveyed 1,023 people. The margin of error is plus or minus 3.3 percentage points.
