Arnold: 'I Deserve People's Anger'

By    |   Sunday, 07 October 2012 05:41 PM EDT

Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger told NBC’s David Gregory that he has no intention to run for political office again, nor does he think people will somehow see the negative things he’s done in any light than what they are, according to Politico.

Having spent the last week on a book tour for his autobiography, “Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story,” the legendary body builder and action film star said he’s not telling his story to make people feel bad for him.

Schwartzenegger last year separated from his wife, Maria Shriver, after it was discovered that he’d had a child with their housekeeper and kept it secret for several years.

“If people are angry with me, I deserve that,” Schwartzenegger said. “Look, I’m sure you’ve made mistakes. I’m sure a lot of people out there make mistakes. I’ve made my fair share of mistakes.”

He said he realizes that his actions hurt his wife and children deeply, but that despite mistakes he considers himself a good person who does not shy away from the missteps in his life.

“I take the responsibility and I will do everything that I can,” he said. “People should make up their own mind about what they think of me.”
