Air Force's Schwartz: Pentagon Has Options for Iran Strike

Wednesday, 29 February 2012 10:53 AM EST

The Pentagon’s Joint Chiefs have prepared military options to strike Iranian nuclear sites in the event of a conflict, Air Force Chief of Staff Norton Schwartz said.

“What we can do, you don’t want to be in the area,” Schwartz said of U.S. capabilities in speaking to reporters today in Washington.

Military options are part of the Obama administration’s choices for dealing with Iran, which also include economic sanctions and diplomatic pressure, Schwartz said.
