A Georgia high school might call in law enforcement to stop a protest against a teacher who made two students obscure T-shirts reading "Make America Great Again" by flipping them inside out.

A math teacher at River Ridge High School told two students to turn their shirts inside out because she worried that the slogan could intimidate the non-white students in her class, telling the students that the phrase had been taken by white supremacists after the violence in Charlottesville. She reportedly told the students, "There is nothing wrong with a shirt of President [Donald] Trump. The problem is with the slogan," according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

"You cannot wear a swastika to school … you cannot wear 'Make America Great Again' like that," she said. "Please go, at least for this class. I don't care what you do in other classes."

A student caught this interaction in a video on their phone and uploaded it online, where it sparked ire from conservatives who considered her action a violation of free speech. State Sen. Michael Williams, who's running for governor of Georgia as a Republican, planning to lead a protest at the school on Sept. 27, which the school claims is a danger to students and staff.

"The school claims to have pre-determined that our peaceful protest, 'will significantly disrupt teaching and learning and may endanger the safety of more than 3,200 students and staff,'" Williams told The Daily Caller News Foundation in a statement. "The arrogance of such statements is insulting to myself and our peaceful protesters. We will not be intimidated by your deceitful statement meant to prevent our lawful right to assemble. The protest will continue as planned. Once again, this school has failed to properly handle simple situations."

A school spokeswoman told the DCNF that "school police officers and other public safety personnel will be monitoring the driveway entrances and elsewhere on campus to ensure students and employees stay safe and secure; and the campus will be on Code Yellow all day."
