President Barack Obama has “poisoned the well” for immigration reform through his order to halt the deportation of some children of illegal immigrants, says Florida Sen. Marco Rubio.
The plight of children of illegal immigrants who are here “is really akin more to refugees than it is to an immigration violator, because it’s not their fault that they’re here," Rubio said at a breakfast for journalists, Politico reports.

He objects to "the process” used by Obama. "There's going to be problems in implementing it," he said. "There will be bad stories that emerge from it." Part of the problem is the fact that the order is temporary, lasting until February, which sets a clock in motion, Rubio says.
Asked if he approves of Mitt Romney’s support of the halted deportations, Rubio responded, "What I’m really comfortable with is he’s said he wants to find a permanent solution" to the problem.
