After a dismal performance in the first debate of his re-election campaign, President Barack Obama narrowly beat Mitt Romney in the second debate of the election, one network poll said.
Obama beat Romney in the second debate 37 percent to 30 percent, with 33 percent calling it a tie, according to an instant poll of undecided voters by CBS after the contentious town hall session ended.
According to other questions asked in the poll, Romney was believed by the undecided voters in the poll to be better for the economy 65 percent to 34 percent, while Obama was seen as being better for the middle class,56 percent to 43 percent.
In the first debate, CBS found that Romney trounced Obama 46 percent to 22 percent.
