Mitt Romney and his wife Ann have purchased a picturesque, mountainside mansion with its own ski-slope access in Park City, Utah.

While the amount they paid for the 8,700-square-foot home and its sprawling property has not been disclosed, it was listed for $8.9 million.

The former Massachusetts governor and 2012 Republican presidential candidate and his spouse will pay $33,648 a year in taxes on the real estate.

The home, which resembles a multimillion dollar log cabin, was designed by architect Fred Babcock and built in 1991.

It features six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, cathedral ceilings, a huge stone fireplace, hot tub, three-car heated garage, and a massive outdoor deck overlooking the Uinta Mountains.

There's also private access to the Success Ski Trail in Deer Valley, so skiers can get on the slopes straight from the property.

According to a real estate listing posted by broker Lee Merryweather, the home has been featured in Architectural Digest.

"This 'Utah Rustic' home [is] … comprised of whole logs and many local materials," with an "interior that invites both grand entertaining and cozy relaxation," the description reads.

"The architectural design is centered on the two-story great room with massive stone fireplace and magnificent views to the Uinta Mountains and beyond … The slope-side patio is perfect for year-round enjoyment."

Park City, 32 miles southeast of Salt Lake City, is home of the Sundance Film Festival and the U.S. Ski Team, and is the original home of the Mrs. Fields Cookies chain.

The Romneys are believed to own five other homes in the United States.
