Rep. Ribble: Ryan’s ‘Meticulous’ Style Givens Him Edge over Biden

By    |   Thursday, 11 October 2012 02:04 PM EDT

Congressman Paul Ryan’s “meticulous” nature will benefit him greatly during Thursday night’s vice presidential debate, Wisconsin Congressman Reid Ribble tells Newsmax TV.

“You can expect him to do his homework. You can expect that he will go into a debate properly prepared and ready to make his case.”

Ribble, who serves on the House Budget Committee with Rep. Ryan, also said GOP vice presidential nominee faces more pressure than Biden to perform well in their lone debate.

Story continues below.

“When you look at the experience that Vice President Biden has on a national stage, he has run for president himself. He has been in these debates. He debated Sarah Palin in the last election and has an awful lot of experience that will naturally put the pressure on Congressman Ryan. He is going to have to step up his game and be ready for basically what I believe will be a harsh attack on Gov. Romney and his plans for the future,” Ribble said.

Rep. Ribble said Congressman Ryan will be cautious when talking about the GOP’s budget plans while also presenting a stark contrast the budget President Obama proposed.

“I think Paul will stay at the 30,000 put view and give enough specifics so the American people will know enough about what is going on without drilling too far down into the weeds. Vice President Biden has a real challenge when it comes to budgeting.

"There has been a lot of tax on the Congress for not doing anything in bipartisan fashion, and yet the Congress was able to come together 414 votes to 0 to defeat President Obama’s own budget. That is what Vice President Biden is going to have to defend.”
