Comedian Tom Shillue will be the next host of Fox News Channel's "Red Eye,"
Mediate reports.
An FNC spokesperson confirmed Shillue will be the new host, Mediate said, but did not name a starting date. Shillue has been one of the rotating hosts since former host Greg Gutfeld left to host the weekly "Greg Gutfeld Show" on FNC on Sunday nights.
Shillue, whose background is in standup comedy that focuses on storytelling, is a longtime panelist on
"Red Eye" and was a fill-in host even before Gutfeld left. He also is a former "Daily Show" correspondent and an opening act for comedian Jim Gaffigan.
He was a member of a barbershop quartet in college and appears on "The Tonight Show" as part of Jimmy Fallon's Ragtime Gals quartet that puts popular songs to barbershop style.
The offbeat panel discussion show "Red Eye" airs at 3 a.m. EST.
