President Donald Trump is expected to submit answers to special counsel Robert Muller's set of questions by Thanksgiving, NBC reported Monday.
NBC, however, said none of the questions relate to obstruction of justice, because the president's legal team refused to engage on that with Mueller despite that being a key piece of the investigation.
The president told reporters Friday he had finished answering the questions connected to the investigation into 2016 election interference and possible ties between the Trump campaign and Russia.
Trump has been dismissive of the entire probe, downplaying the idea he would agree to an interview with Mueller when asked about the possibility.
"We've wasted enough time on this witch hunt and the answer is probably, 'we're finished'" once the answers are submitted, Trump told Fox News.
"We gave very, very complete answers to a lot of questions that I shouldn't have even been asked, and I think that should solve the problem," Trump said. "I hope it solves the problem, if it doesn't, you know, I'll be told, and we'll make a decision at that time.
"But probably this is the end."
