A police officer in Philadelphia has been hit by a vehicle while he attempted to stop looters in the city.
A bicycle officer had his arm broken and sustained other minor injuries before being taken to the hospital, according to a tweet from the Philadelphia Police Department.
"9th Dist. Bike Officer was attempting to stop individuals in a vehicle who were involved in looting a business in the area of 7th and Chestnut. The individual ran over the officer while escaping," Philadelphia police tweeted.
It's unclear whether police caught the person driving the vehicle.
Other tweets from the Philadelphia police department reported that 13 other officers had been injured during the protests on Saturday. Those included seven officers with "chemical burns to the face."
