Poll: Far More Young Dems Plan to Vote Than Young GOPers

Far more young Democrats are planning on voting in the midterm elections this year than young Republicans, according to a new poll from Harvard University's Institute of Politics.

The IOP surveyed over 2,500 young people aged 18-29, and found that those who identified as Democrats were more likely than those who identified as Republicans to say they are going to vote in November, Axios reports.

• 37 percent of Americans under 30 will "definitely" be voting;
• 51 percent of young Democrats will "definitely" be voting;
• 36 percent of young Republicans will "definitely" be voting.

At this point in 2014, only 28 percent of Democrats and 31 percent of Republicans said they would "definitely" be voting.

The Harvard Institute of Politics polled 2,631 people between ages 18-29, with a margin of error of +/- 3 percentage points.
