The man suspected of shooting six people Wednesday, three of whom died of their wounds, was captured in Delaware after an intense manhunt that spanned several states on the East Coast.

Police said Radee Labeeb Prince shot five of his co-workers at a granite business in Edgewood, Maryland Wednesday morning and then drove to Wilmington, Delaware, where he shot another person at an auto sales and service business. Three of the people shot at the Maryland location died, and the incident set off a massive manhunt to locate and apprehend Prince.

The Harford County Sheriff's Office in Maryland confirmed in a tweet Wednesday evening that Prince was arrested by federal authorities. Subsequent news reports said the apprehension took place in Newark, Del.

The Wilmington, Delaware police had located Prince's car outside of the city in New Castle County around 6 p.m. It's not clear how he got from that location to Newark, although the distance between them is around 10 miles. Other neighboring states also had active lookouts for Prince during the manhunt.

Police in Maryland said Prince fired multiple rounds from a handgun at Advanced Granite Solutions shortly before 9 a.m. He had worked for the company for the last four months and was scheduled to work Wednesday.

Delaware authorities said Prince had "beefs" with a man in Wilmington and shot him twice around 10:45 a.m. The victim was able to tell police it was Prince who shot him.

Prince has a lengthy criminal record in Delaware that includes 15 felony convictions, four misdemeanor convictions, and numerous arrests for violations of probation. He was fired from his last job after punching a co-worker.

Information from the Associated Press was used in this report.
