Hillary Clinton is planning to launch a podcast this spring just in time to chime in on the 2020 presidential election, but she is drawing inspiration from two unusual sources: comedian and last night talk show host Conan O'Brien and longtime radio star Howard Stern.

The 2016 presidential nominee has signed a deal with iHeartRadio, and will appear on the same platform as famous podcasters such as Joe Rogan and Will Farrell, reports Politico.

Clinton was inspired by O'Brien, after he interviewed her and her daughter Chelsea Clinton for his podcast, "Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend."

"Conan just exudes enthusiasm about this platform and he does these interviews that are really evergreen and the idea with her, in part inspired by that experience, is to do the same thing," a source close to Clinton said. "She wants to try to have a wider-ranging conversation that will be lasting, so you can listen to it in a year or you can listen to it tomorrow and it will be interesting. And then, of course, she'll do some ranting and raving about the news of the day."

Meanwhile, Clinton and Stern hit it off late last year when she appeared on his show to promote her book, reports Politico. They were only scheduled to talk for an hour, but Clinton warmed up to Stern's skills at getting his guests to open up, and they ended up recording for almost 2½ hours. It was Stern's longest interview with a non-musician in his show's history.

Clinton's continued comments about the 2020 race have been making headlines, especially with her criticism of her 2016 rival, current frontrunner Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt. She has also continued to sharply criticize President Donald Trump losing the 2016 race to him, including calling him Russian President Vladimir Putin's "puppet" in recent days.
