The amendment has been offered by Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind. The organization garnered statements of support for the measure from four likely Republican candidates and cites expressions of support from five others.
Haley Barbour, Mike Huckabee, Sarah Palin, and Tim Pawlenty told SBA List they endorse Pence's amendment.
The five hopefuls who have offered support in other contexts are Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Michele Bachmann, Rick Santorum, and Herman Cain.
SBA didn’t mention Texas Rep. Ron Paul, but he's a co-sponsor of Pence’s proposal.
