Former Palin Adviser to Be Cardinal Dolan’s Spokesman

By    |   Thursday, 02 May 2013 07:41 AM EDT

Cardinal Timothy Dolan raised some eyebrows among liberal Roman Catholics last week when he tapped Kim Daniels to be his spokesman for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.

The move by Dolan — archbishop of New York and president of the USCCB — generated controversy because of Daniels’ past as an adviser to former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

After running in 2008 as the Republican vice presidential nominee, Palin formed a political action committee known as SarahPAC that hired Daniels as its domestic policy adviser.

For the previous nine years, Daniels, who is an attorney, worked for the Thomas More Law Center, which advocates the right of pharmacists to refuse to display the “morning after pill” that induces abortions.
