Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, is ready to bite the bullet on sequestration, although he warns it would put a very serious dent into the country’s ability to defend itself.
“I'm for sequestration,” Hatch told the
Salt Lake Tribune Wednesday, if Congress can't come up with other ways to cut spending.
“We’ve got to face the music now, or it will be much tougher later.”

With across-the-board spending cuts looming as of March 1, Hatch said sequestration would lead to an economic disaster in Utah, where two-thirds of the civilians who work at Hill Air Force Base would be furloughed.
Hatch said it would be “devastating to our nation’s readiness.”
