Even as White House Press Secretary Jay Carney was acknowledging that some people are losing health insurance they like, his boss was still online promising they wouldn't.
Rep. Aaron Schock, R-Ill., pulled out his cellphone during congressional testimony Tuesday to quote President Barack Obama's promise: "If you like your healthcare plan, you will be able to keep your healthcare plan."
"That is on
WhiteHouse.gov today. 'Reality Check' is the headline," Schock said.
"All the while we were talking about a website that didn't work, I went to a website that does work, which is WhiteHouse.gov, where they continue to repeat the claim, which is false," Schock said later Tuesday on Fox News Channel's
"On the Record."
"And they even substantiate their claim on the website today, on the White House's official page, by quoting all of the president's speeches and town halls where he's assured Americans that they can keep it," Schock told Fox's Greta Van Susteren.
Carney was asked during a daily press briefing Monday about the promise amid rising claims that people are having their plans canceled as their premiums rise or their deductibles rise.

Carney responded that the law creates "minimum standards" of coverage, and that plans that fall outside those minimums cannot continue.
That didn't fly with Schock, who told Van Susteren, "There was never an asterisk next to the president's statement."
As of Tuesday night, a video of Obama touting the Affordable Care Act remained on WhiteHouse.gov, but no headline "Reality Check" could be found.
