The film documenting the killing of Osama bin Laden by SEAL Team Six will come out two days ahead of Election Day and has been edited to portray President Barack Obama in a more prominent role, the
New York Times reported.
The National Geographic Channel will air the 90-minute Harvey film, which is backed by loyal Democratic donor Harvey Weinstein, on Nov. 4 and it will be subsequently released on Netflix the next day, the Times reported.
The makers of the film, “SEAL Team Six: The Raid on Osama bin Laden,” were given access by the White House to information about the raid, which was brought to light after Judicial Watch used the Freedom of Information Act to obtain documents related to the film, which details the hunt and killing of the terror kingpin in Pakistan on May 2, 2011.
Weinstein and the film’s director, John Stockwell told the Times that the changes to the film were not politically motivated.
The additional Obama footage was gathered by Meghan O’Hara, a producer who worked closely with Michael Moore on “Fahrenheit 9/11” and “Sicko.”
