NRA's Loesch Blasts 'SNL' Over Call to Limit Guns

(Fox News' "Fox & Friends")

National Rifle Association Spokeswoman Dana Loesch on Monday blasted what she called a "firearms lecture" delivered on "Saturday Night Live" over the weekend, saying that such comments often come from people who either don't own a gun or who have likely never fired one.

"These individuals can afford private security," Loesch told Fox News' "Fox & Friends" program. "They work in a building that has armed guards, and you know they wouldn't go one single day without these armed guards."

"Why don't you give up the firearms that your private security is holding?" she continued. "You're not being more virtuous because you're paying somebody else to carry it. You're outsourcing it."

On Saturday night, SNL's Weekend Update co-anchor Michael Che, during a segment about the Las Vegas shooting, commented that people should be told "no, you're not allowed to have 40 guns anymore. From now on, you can have one gun. Max. And six bullets."

Further, he said that if people can't hit what they're aiming at with six bullets, then they should not be shooting, but instead should "learn karate or use your words."

Co-host Colin Jost further compared people who own multiple guns to people who hoard cats.

"No one should own 47 of anything," Jost said. "If you own 47 cats you are not a responsible pet owner. You're a crazy cat lady and unlike with guns the government will actually come and take your cats away, because everyone agrees that's insane."

"Yeah, karate or words," Loesch said. "I'm certainly not going to take any kind of firearm lecture from people who clearly don't either own them or have never fired them and don't even understand the concept of self-defense either."

She also sarcastically answered the cat comment, "Because, you know, people all over the United States every day successfully defend their lives using cats."

She also took issue at the idea of limiting the number of guns Americans can have.

"You would need firearms to go door-to-door to houses all over the United States, to millions of Americans and confiscate said firearms," said Loesch. "There are millions of Americans all throughout the country that own multiple firearms, yes, even own 40 firearms. And you know what? They've been owning these 40 firearms for decades and millions of law-abiding Americans who have not done anything."

She described firearms owners and people with conceal carry licenses as "the most law abiding group," but still, "evil lives among us."

"You have to deal with evil," Loesch said. "I certainly want to be prepared to deal with evil on or a monster with the ability to defend myself as opposed to not having that ability to defend myself."
