Few NFL sponsors have commented on the national anthem protests, but the six that have made statements that don't appear to take one side or the other, according to a report in The New York Times.
President Donald Trump last Friday criticized professional football players who kneel during the anthem, and said team owners should fire them.
"Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, 'Get that son of a b****I off the field right now. He is fired. He's fired,'" Trump said.
The president doubled down on his comments over the weekend, and players responded by kneeling, locking arms and not appearing on the field during the anthem.
